Conner Arrington
Games Producer
About Me

Many different art forms have appealed to me, but I never really specialized in any of them. I pursued a variety of disciplines growing up and learned the broad strokes, but I never really felt like I found my medium.
Until I realized I could be a producer.
As a Games Producer I use my background in various disciplines to support all aspects of production. I create a stable, strong project foundation for team members to rely upon so they can do their best work. And I aim to foster an inclusive environment with an atmosphere of passion, trust, and fun.

My Story
As a lifelong videogame fan, I was eager from a young age to learn how to make games myself. However, the programming always intimidated me too much to try.
Fast forward to spring 2020. Trapped inside during lockdown, I decided to take a risk and bought a copy of GameMaker Studio. "If I'm going to be stuck inside, I may as well try learning something."
For the next few months, I spent hours each day following along to gameplay coding tutorials and setting up rough prototypes. The games were never as big or detailed as I wanted, but still -- I was making games!

Since then, I haven't looked back.
I've worked my way through a couple of different engines now. Starting with GameMaker, I soon switched to Unity since it offered more versatility. Later on I also started working in Godot, for more lightweight projects. Each time picking up the basics of the program quicker than before.
As I worked on more team game projects, I noticed that I picked up a lot of responsibilities outside of programming. Drafting documentation, aligning schedules, resolving friction between teammates. "Somebody has to do it" I told myself. I was good at it, but I didn't think much of it until a friend pointed out that that is what a producer is for.

Something clicked inside of me in that moment. "This is what I want to do" I realized.

I've found the more I learn about production, the more rewarding it becomes. I hope to pour the passion I had for games as a kid into the work I do now.
